The primary theme of the two-day conference is “Ferguson Then and Now.”
Each of the 3 four-hour sessions discussed a particular aspect of that theme:
Friday afternoon sessions – Building Relationships
Saturday morning sessions – Appreciating Diversity
Saturday afternoon sessions – Strengthening Community
Each four-hour session started with a keynote to set the stage for the discussions that followed.
After the keynote, attendees attended one of several Breakout Sessions. These sessions explored specific facets of the keynote’s theme.
Social Connectedness
Housing and Neighborhoods
Economic Development
Education and Youth Empowerment
Community Safety
Giving Voice Through the Arts
The Breakout Sessions will featured a panel of experts in their field to share their experiences and lead the discussions.
The Breakout Sessions will emphasized dialogues among all of the conference attendees to allow all voices to be heard, to listen to one another’s hopes for our city, and to provide opportunities for healing.
Each four-hour block ended with a a summary session for all of the attendees. The summaries discussed take-aways from each of the break-out sessions to identify next steps, identify available resources, and provide opportunities for networking.
